SEO

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the process of improving your web visibility online, helping you to turn up in search engine result pages (SERPs). Search engines, like Google, Bing, and Yahoo, weigh various elements to determine which websites best match a search query. SEO works with all of these elements, including keywords, HTML, links, and more, to optimize your site for online searches.

How do I make my website show up at the top of the list on a search engine?

Showing up number one in Google (or any search engine) is a complex and ongoing task and there is no guarantee that you will get that number one spot. However, SEO helps you to rank higher in search engines, pushing you closer to that number one spot. Search engines use complex algorithms to determine which websites turn up in SERPs and so no one can promise a first place ranking in Google.

Thus, a mobile-friendly website is essential. One option is to create a mobile site that is specific to those accessing your site from their mobile devices. Another option is responsive design. Responsive design allows your website to respond to whatever device it is being displayed on, whether it be a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Thus, no matter the device, the user gets an optimal viewing experience.

What is the difference between a mobile app and a mobile website?

A mobile website is similar to any other website, except that it is designed for optimal viewing on a smaller, touch-screen device. Like regular websites, mobile websites consist of browser-based HTML pages that are linked together and accessed over the web.
